Manufacturing Engineer

Develops new product processes and improves existing manufacturing processes and tooling/work related to stamping presses and robotic welders. Studies product and manufacturing methods and is responsible to improve process performance, maximizing cycle times and efficiencies.

Job Responsibilities

Analysis

Must determine how to measure the critical factors of each process and outputs and develop systems. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

Develop

Develop project timelines and milestones and associated communication documents required for internal and external requirements. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.

Communication

Must professionally and effectively communicate both internal and external to the organization. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion.

Performance

Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. Track project milestones and deliverables and report status of project to customer and management team.

Teamwork

Be liaison between customer and project team/manufacturing team.

Gather

Gather information and analyzes work force utilization and space requirements in order to determine flow of work and define the factors that impact a process as well as define the true requirements for the inputs and outputs of a process.

Job Requirements

Degree

Minimum of Associates degree in an engineering or technical field.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years working with a metal stamping manufacturer in a technical capacity (industrial engineer, manufacturing engineer, CI coordinator or manager, Lean engineer, etc.).

Proficiency

Proficient with CAD software

Program

Ability to program robots and/or transfer systems helpful.

Organization

Maintain organized schedules and filing.

Safety

Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required while performing duties in production areas.

Data Entry

Some computer literacy and data entry knowledge.
