Business Development Manager

Job Responsibilities

Establish Accounts

Establish account relationships with new customers or new industries to McGregor Metal. Develop and uncover sales leads from prospective customers as well as generate new opportunities from select, current customers. Arrange customer visits to McGregor facilities.

Sales

Generate ~$40 million in quote opportunities annually, with a close rate of $4 million in booked sales or a minimum of 10% of quotes.

Quote Preparation

Prepare and review part estimates for labor, material, and sublet costs as needed to establish the customer quote. Review and prepare the quote.

Customer Relations

Work as liaison between customer, production, quality and engineering. Visit customers and their facilities in person, regularly.

Data Entry

Maintain customer records, files, account information, and changes.

Communication

Resolve customer problems. Works closely with customers to monitor/uncover customer needs, turning these problems/inquiries into new opportunities.

Communication

Communicate with scheduling and other suppliers to ensure necessary materials, tooling availability, and container requirements to ensure the integrity of the production schedule is maintained.

Budgeting

Assist with annual sales forecasting for purposes of budgeting.

Flexibility

Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree required (business and/or engineering). Previous sales experience of 15 years or more required. Experience in metal stamping, welding, and assembly preferred.

Self-Motivated

Disciplined, proactive and self-motivated.

Personable

Friendly, outgoing and affable. Well-liked.

Blueprint Interpretation

Ability to interpret part prints and drawings

Tech-Savvy

Computer literacy required – Microsoft Office

Strong Communicator

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Excellent English and grammar and public relations skills.

Work Environment

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Travel required as needed, approximately 30%, either to Springfield, Ohio or to customer plant sites. Hybrid option can be discussed.

Physical Demands

Requires the use of office equipment, such as computers, telephones, printers, and copiers. Requires normal vision, hearing, and speech range. Prolonged sitting.
