Shipping & Receiving Associate

Loads and unloads trucks, receives material into inventory, prepare paperwork for shipments, banding and organization of physical inventory.

Job Responsibilities

Inspect Shipments

Examine contents of shipments and compare with records to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments. Verifies items received, noting any shortages or discrepancies.

Preparation

Process outbound shipments, and pull orders for shipments.

Forklift Operation

Operate propane or electric-powered forklifts to transport, load, and unload materials. Operate overhead cranes as necessary to load, unload, and transport material to production or for shipment.

Packing

Split and merge containers and container weigh count.

Data Entry

Weight materials or products on the scale and record pertinent data on tags or labels. Enter information into computer, and create computer bar codes, shipping labels, etc. Perform Cycle Inventory.

Safety

Performs duties in a safe manner with attention to quality.

Labeling

Print shipping labels and paperwork to the correct containers and shipments going out. Receive in parts and label the containers they received in and put the containers away in a timely manner.

Flexibility

Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education

High School Diploma or GED required. Forklift (sit down and stand up) experience required. Warehouse experience a plus. Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred.

Safety

Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required while performing duties in production areas.

Data Entry

Some computer literacy and data entry knowledge.

Experience

Previous experience with Plex (ERP system) a plus.

Work Environment

Work is primarily performed in a factory environment.

Physical Demands

Requires frequent bending, stooping, stretching, prolonged standing. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds continuously throughout an eight (8) hour shift. Requires normal vision, hearing, and speech range. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
