The Tool and Die role supports the tooling department and production department by machining parts to repair metal stamping dies and tooling.
Quick Apply TodayTroubleshoots and repairs production dies and tools. Operates machinery (precision and hand tools) required to build necessary parts or repair parts. Knowledgeable in most toolroom machinery.
Repair and install die sensor and safety devices. Lays out, fits, and assembles parts to make and repair cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, etc.
Studies blueprint to determine machining to be done and plans layout and process.
Has knowledge of stamping dies (Blanking, forming, drawing) understands die timing, Pad travels, stripper and binder pad travels/pressures and timing.
In press and on bench (Toolroom) die troubleshooting is required.
In press die, sensor and tooling adjustments, troubleshooting and changes will be required.
Must have own measurement and hand tools to perform the required duties.
Tig (toolroom) welding experience is preferred but not required.
Must be able to work well and communicate with other shifts (verbal or written).
Must be able to work with production supervisors, team leads, and production associates.
Uses precision and non-precision measuring instruments/tools to verify dimensions and alignments.
Disassembles dies if necessary; to repair, sharpen, check clearances (cutting or forming) or strengthen die attributes.
Maintains clean and orderly work area.
Performs duties in a safe manner with attention to quality.
Operates forklift and overhead cranes.
Lock out/tag out is required to do press calls.
All other related duties as assigned by toolroom supervisor and management.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior experience in manufacturing environment required. Experience with operations of various machinery (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.) required.
Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required while performing duties in production areas.
Some computer literacy and data entry knowledge.

Tool and Die work is primarily performed in a factory environment.
The Tool and Die role requires frequent bending, stooping, stretching, and prolonged standing. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds continuously throughout an eight (8) hour shift. Requires normal vision and hearing range. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
