Responsible for short and long-term quality objectives and goals.
Supervision of quality employees over two shifts. Interview and recommend all quality position hirings.
Maintain quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Monitor and evaluation staff performance.
Oversees inspection of parts for conformance to specifications and standards.
Monitor quality control department’s reaction time to production calls.
Develop improved methods to reduce inspection time during die set-ups.
Manage ISO/TS 16949 certification process and ongoing implementation.
Maintain customer and vendor contacts. Remain actively involved with supplier development, including site visits and evaluations.
Confers with vendors and customers regarding inspection issues, recommends corrective procedures, and compiles reports of recommendations and results.
Periodic inspection of parts. Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures.
Oversee PPAP’s, calibration, and control plans.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Operations Management or related field required. Previous quality experience in manufacturing environment preferred. ASQ Certification as Quality Engineer preferred.
Knowledge of inspection and quality measurement devices, including micrometers, calipers, height gauge, etc.
Blueprint reading knowledge required.
Steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection are required when performing duties in production areas. Other appropriate PPE, such as gloves, may be required.
Computer literacy required.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Good communication skills required.
